We’ve waved our magic wands and... Ta-da! A prince appears. Presenting an array of his celebrated vintages will be our 2012 Honored Vintner, HRH Prince Robert of Luxembourg, president and managing director of the legendary Château Haut-Brion and its adjoining property, Château La Mission Haut-Brion. Prince Robert is the great-grandson of Clarence Dillon, who bought the legendary château in 1935. The estate dates back to April 1525 when Jean de Pontac married Jeanne de Bellon, the daughter of the mayor of Libourne and seigneur of Haut-Brion, who brought the land in her dowry. In 1533 Pontac bought the title to the domain of Haut-Brion, establishing a wine estate whose illustrious heritage would be preserved and promoted over the centuries by four families.
Few wines in the world command its renown. In fact, arguably only four come close; the First Growths of Bordeaux. As the oldest of the Bordeaux classed growths whenever Château Haut-Brion is mentioned, one quickly runs out of superlatives. This wine is the embodiment of five centuries of tradition and plays a pivotal role in the worldwide history of wine. Your host and moderator for this once-in-a-lifetime tasting opportunity is James Molesworth of Wine Spectator. James joined Wine Spectator in 1997 as tasting coordinator and was promoted to senior editor in 2004. From 1997 through 2007, he directed Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Awards Program. Currently, his tasting responsibilities include the wines of France's Bordeaux region, the Rhône and Loire valleys, along with Chile, Argentina, South Africa and the Finger Lakes region of New York.
This event will give a privileged few the opportunity to taste legendary vintages of the esteemed wines of Château Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion side-by-side. A royally magical luncheon will follow the tasting in The Ritz-Carlton’s Lemonía restaurant. Don’t be left out… Attendance is limited to only 70 guests for this magical event. An additional ticket price of $2,500 per person is required to attend the C’est Magique Honored Vintner Wine Tasting and Lunch. Festival patrons will have the opportunity to register to participate in this pre-festival event prior to the C’est Magique invitation mailing.

Experience firsthand how funds raised at the Naples Winter Wine Festival have transformed a community and is making it possible for underprivileged and at risk children to go places they never dreamed. This special morning will give you the time to interact with twenty-four NCEF supported charities and visit with some of the children who have been given the opportunity to excel due to your generosity. After the tour, you will travel to Hamilton Harbour Yacht Club where—Voila!—we’ll unveil a magnificent luncheon and wine tasting with acclaimed vintners.
