Every moment of this journey to enchanting India has been curated to convey a sense of royalty. Two couples will travel across space and time into the era of Indian Maharaja and Maharani to create an absolutely unforgettable royal experience. A sense of privilege will be present throughout your journey as you are accompanied by a dedicated team—concierge guides and butlers—to assure unparalleled comfort, tending to every need from meals to beverages, to packing and unpacking, day and night. Throughout your trip, acclaimed chefs will also oversee all meals.
The royal treatment is what you’ll receive following your long flight, as the Hotel Taj Delhi welcomes you in one of their Royal Suites. Pamper yourself in the spa and enjoy a special massage designed to help with jetlag, followed by a dinner prepared by a celebrated chef.
The next morning, revived and rejuvenated, you’ll board your private jet and arrive at the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur, constructed in 1743 as the summer palace of the rulers of Udaipur.
Now, it’s time to pop the question: why not renew your wedding vows as part of this incredible adventure? Indian wedding ceremonies are among the most unique, colorful, extravagant and spiritual in the world—and Udaipur is where you will have the opportunity to select and be fitted for the beautiful, traditional jewelry, fashioned by Indian craftsmen, that will become part of your cherished memories. Surrounded by flowers, garlands, music, chanting, joy and laughter, you’ll fall in love all over again as you experience a wedding like no other. Renew your vows aboard the 150-year-old, Royal Barge, Ganguar, in the middle of a lake on your last evening in this captivating city. Your reception? Also aboard Ganguar with music, cocktails and dinner for you and your guests. Every detail of this “memory of a lifetime” will be lovingly arranged for you.
While in Udaipur, you’ll also enjoy a guided tour of the City Palace, see some of the world’s rarest crystals at the Crystal Gallery, visit the Ranakpur temple, an architectural wonder, started in 1400 CE and dine at the Devigarh Palace, named as one of the leading luxury hotels by The New York Times. On day three, you will be guests of the Royal Family of Udaipur for afternoon tea.
Voted the “World’s Best Hotel” by Traveler’s Choice Awards, the magnificent Taj Umaid Bhavan Palace is your home away from home in Jodhpur—and the private residence of the Maharaja of Jodhpur. You’ll enjoy cocktails and dinner with Maharaja Gaj Singhji in the beautiful Baradari Gardens overlooking the grand palace on one side and the city of Jodhpur on the other. Also on your itinerary are Bal Samand Palace and Mehrangarh Fort, known for its intricate carvings, expansive courtyards—and ghosts!
As you travel across the Indian Thar Desert to the luxurious Serai Camp in Jaisalmer, you will find both the journey and the destination to be thrilling. Your desert experience includes the 1,100-year-old Jaisalmer Fort still sheltering families who have lived there for centuries. Under the stars and amid the sand dunes you’ll enjoy cocktails, dinners, bonfires, barbecue, folk music, folk dancers and a camel ride.
In Ranthambore, staying in Royal Tents with adjoining plunge pools at Vanya Vilas, you’ll experience a majestic tiger safari with a renowned guide, before you’re off to Jaipur where you will, once again, dine with royalty—the Royal Family will be your hosts for dinner at the City Palace. Highlights of Jaipur also include a game of Horse Polo, a guided visit to the walled “Pink City” and a fine dining experience and historical sound and light show overlooking Maota Lake at Amer Fort, known for its artistic style elements. From Nahar Garh Fort overlooking the city, you’ll watch fireworks light the sky to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights.
Your last stop: the Taj Mahal in Agra, a symbol of eternal love built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife.
Enriching this experience even more, historians will escort you on every fascinating tour, so you’ll hear the official stories, romantic versions, back-stories and beloved legends of India’s palaces, forts, people, animals and traditions.
