A unique two (2) part auction lot that stretches from New York City to Burgundy, France for two (2) couples
Are you ready to take in the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple, followed by the flavors of France? If so, this trip might be just the ticket!
First, you’ll make your way to New York, where you’ll be the very special guest of Jamie Pollack, global managing director for Zachys Wine Auctions, at one of Zachys’ wine auctions. You’ll enjoy a delicious lunch and an exclusive wine tasting from some of the exceptional collections on offer in the auction. Then, you’ll head downtown to Eleven Madison Park – one of the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” – to sip and savor more fabulous food and wine, and where Jamie will select wines from the Zachys cellar, including Dom Pérignon 1976, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Duvault-Blochet, Domaine de la Romanée Conti 2006 and Harlan Estate 2004 to enjoy during the meal. You’ll stay at the luxurious NoMad Hotel for two nights.
Next, you’re off to beautiful Burgundy. There you’ll spend two evenings at the historic and posh L’Hôtel de Beaune, a five-star, luxuriously restored 19th-century mansion in the center of Beaune with a world-renowned restaurant.
Day one begins with a private tour of the famed Gaugry Fromagerie in Brochon, near the celebrated winemaking village of Gevrey-Chambertin. Perhaps you’ll wish to pick up some amazing fresh fromage and a crusty baguette for a picnic amongst the vines with Jean-Marie Fourrier, the proprietor and winemaker at Domaine Fourrier. Jean-Marie will also lead a tasting of his wines during the picnic.
That evening, you’ll enjoy dinner at Zachys’ own wine club, the Bourgogne 1243 Society, which dates back to the 13th-century, along with “library” vintages of wine from each of the Domaines visited while in Burgundy.
Day two is all about everything Maison Louis Jadot. The day begins bright and early with a visit to Jadot’s cooperage, Cadus, followed by a barrel tasting at the winery and a light lunch at their house in Beaune, plus a petit tour of their Côte de Beaune vineyards. As the afternoon progresses, relax back at the hotel and meet again in the evening for a tour of Jadot’s historic old cellars and dinner at Les Couvent des Jacobins.
Your trip culminates on day three with a Grand Cru barrel tasting at the renowned Domaine Faiveley, followed by a private lunch down in the beautifully renovated wine cellar with proprietor Erwan Faiveley – the seventh generation of his family to lead Domaine Faiveley.
We’re certain of one thing: It’s a trip “two” good “two” be missed!
