The winning bidder on this lot will receive an intimate view of wine and life Down Under: from the majesty of the Barossa Valley to the sophistication of Sydney, with an intimate view into the Penfolds Estates, one of the oldest and greatest of Australian wine estates, in both Australia and Napa.

Your remarkable journey begins in the South Australian city of Adelaide, gateway to the Barossa Valley. You’ll spend three nights at the Five-star Mayfair Hotel.

The next morning, you’ll embark on a tour of the city and the nearby Adelaide Hills wine region. You’ll taste a flight of sparkling wines at Deviation Road and enjoy a local grazing board for lunch. Next, travel to the picturesque German town of Hahndorf and its Migration Museum, where you’ll hear the stories of Hahndorf’s pioneering families.

That evening, you’ll visit Penfolds Magill for twilight tour and dinner. Nestled in the foothills of Adelaide and only 15 minutes from the Central Business District, Penfolds Magill Estate is the original home of Penfolds wines and of Australia’s most prized wine, the famous Grange.

Before leaving Adelaide, you’ll spend a day exploring the pristine coastline and gorge of McLaren Vale, along with the area’s finest wineries. Go behind the scenes in Wirra’s historic ironstone cellars, see the barrel room and enjoy a seated tasting of their white and red wines. Next is Salopian Inn, one of Australia’s Top 100 restaurants, where you’ll enjoy a beautiful three-course lunch in a stunning old homestead with expansive vineyard views.

After lunch, head to Bekkers Wine, owned by Emmanuelle and Toby Bekkers and regarded as one of the top six wineries in the country, for a tasting and masterclass to learn the secrets behind the prestigious label, including techniques used in the vineyard and their winemaking style, finishing with a visit to the barrel hall. The highlight of your tour will be the d’Arenberg Cube, a five-story, futuristic building rising out of the vineyards. On your return to Adelaide, drive along the beach and see the spectacular Fleurieu Peninsula coastline.

It’s time to head for the Barossa Valley and check into The Louise, the ultimate in the region’s luxury accommodations. You’ll spend two nights in a 1400-square foot Marananga Suite with a walk-in rain shower, spacious lounge with fireplace, private courtyard and terrace and peaceful vineyard views.

The next day, your first stop will be The Standish Wine Company, owned by sixth-generation Barossa vintner Dan Standish. Standish wines are small-batch, vineyard designated gems made exclusively from old vine Shiraz and are nearly impossible to acquire.

After lunch at the award-winning Vintners Bar & Grill, you’ll head north to the Eden Valley for a visit with Phil Lehmann, son of the legendary Barossa winemaker Peter Lehmann. You’ll spend time with Phil at his private homestead, tour his personal vineyard and relax around the fire pit while tasting some of his remarkable limited-edition wines.

You won’t want to leave the Barossa Valley, but the consolation is that you’re heading to Sydney for a whirlwind tour of the capital. You’ll spend two nights in a Cove Suite at the Park Hyatt. You’ll receive a private tour of the iconic Sydney Opera House, widely regarded as one of the world’s most famous and distinctive buildings and a masterpiece of 20th century architecture.

The next morning you’ll be transferred to the marina to board your luxury motor cruiser for your full day Sydney Harbour experience. Disembark at the Sydney Fish Markets for a brief tour of the world’s second largest fish market as you collect some of the freshest local ingredients for your lunch.

Back in the United States, your Australian experience will continue during a two-night stay at the 1913 Private Arts & Crafts Residence in Rutherford, where you’ll be hosted for a five-course dinner featuring Penfolds rarest and most collectible wines. You’ll have the opportunity to savor the legendary Grange. Enjoy wines from Bin 111A, a special Shiraz made from the outstanding 2016 vintage, sourced from vineyards in the Barossa and Clare Valleys. The list also includes Bin 98 Quantum, a unique Cabernet Sauvignon composed of grapes from prized Australian Shiraz vineyards, blended with vines planted in the Napa Valley from Australian cuttings.

Your California experience will also include a sumptuous five-course wine country picnic, as well as a hot air balloon tour of the Napa Valley.

The winning bidder will receive a magnificent assortment of one dozen wines spanning the very best of the Penfolds range. In addition, you’ll be the owner of a Vintec wine cabinet with a 200-bottle capacity, capable of multiple temperature zones for storing both white and red wines.
