Is it possible to compress 26 generations of winemaking excellence into one thrilling week? With the help of the Antinori Family, the winning bidders’ party of four will experience the history and tradition of Italy’s foremost wine legacy—not to mention the spectacular cuisine of the country, and the wine that made Antinori legendary in the first place.

During this amazing week, you’ll receive a behind-the-scenes look at Antinori’s top wine estates, along with an immersion into Italian culture. Your adventure begins in the city of Florence where you’ll spend two nights at Palazzo Antinori. Purchased in 1506 by Niccolò di Tommaso Antinori, the Palazzo has been the family’s private residence for over 500 years and has housed the Cantinetta Antinori since 1957.

Your lunch stop will be Procacci 1885 wine bar, a chic and intimate establishment known for truffle-inflected dishes and a complete assortment of Antinori wines. Traditional Florentine cuisine will be on display during a dinner at Buca Lapi, the city’s oldest restaurant, founded in 1880 in the Palazzo Antinori cellars.

You’ll have a private tour of the famed Uffizi Gallery, which inherited the art collection of the ruling House of Medici when their dynasty died out.

Your home base for the next two nights will be the Chianti Classico region stretching from Florence to Siena, where you’ll stay at Tenuta Tignanello. The 16th-century manor house dates to 1346, and it was owned by the Medici Family before the Antinoris acquired it in the mid-1800s. Tenuta Tignanello was the place where Cabernet was first blended into Chianti, in violation of then-current wine law. You’ll enjoy a private tour and tasting at the winery, followed by dinner at Villa Tignanello.

You’ll have the opportunity to taste Antinori’s signature wines from the region: Chianti Classico Pèppoli, Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva and the dessert wine of Vinsanto Marchese Antinori. Your itinerary will include a visit to Badia a Passignano, located south of the Tignanello estate and famed for the production of Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione.

In between winery visits, you’ll explore the culinary riches of Chianti Classico. You’ll have lunch at Rinuccio 1180 restaurant, known for rustic Tuscan food in a friendly and welcoming environment. While at Badia a Passignano, you’ll dine at the Michelin-starred Osteria di Passignano.

Board a helicopter for the trip to Bolgheri on the Etruscan coast. You’ll spend two nights in the guest house at Guado al Tasso, Antinori’s 900-acre estate located in the rolling hillsides known as the “Bolgheri Amphiteatre.” You’ll have a private tour and tasting at the winery before dining at Osteria del Tasso, known for its interpretation of classic Bolgheri dishes such as cured meats, cod fish, venison and beef.

While in Bolgheri, you’ll pay a visit to Le Mortelle in the heart of Maremma. Since 1999, the Antinori Family has focused on improving the vineyards and building a new winery, convinced of the area’s potential for producing high quality wines. You’ll receive a private tour of the winery and a tasting of the estate’s unique white and red blends.

Another helicopter ride will take you to Orvieto in Umbria, where the Antinori estate of Castello della Sala overlooks the Apennine Mountains. Under the direction of famed enologist Renzo Cotarella, the estate has become universally known for a complex Chardonnay capable of extended bottle aging. You’ll dine at Castello della Sala and enjoy a visit to the historic city of Orvieto.

During this remarkable week, your party of four has visited six spectacular wine estates in three different regions and had the opportunity to sample the best in Italian art, culture and cuisine. For your personal cellar, you’ll take home a rare collection of Tignanello, Solaia and Guado al Tasso in Large Format bottles.

If you’re a lover of Italian wine, this is a lot you won’t want to miss. Raise your paddle and make it yours!
