One lucky bidder will experience the automotive rush of master spy James Bond behind the wheel of this sleek and stylish Aston Martin! The automaker calls the 2020 DBS Superleggera “both a shining light expressing the most beautiful automotive art and, at the same time, a dark and menacing shadow of brutal, unequivocal strength.”
With a hand-built, 5.2-liter twin-turbo, V12 engine, the 715-horsepower Superleggera (Italian for “super light”) can reach 62 mph in less than 3.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 211 mph. Its speed is only where its talent starts, as even more phenomenal is its torque — the power of the punch you feel when a car accelerates, and the DBS has more of it than any other in Aston Martin history (900 N.m, to be precise).
Only a very special transmission can harness this mighty engine. With the ZF 8HP95 gearbox, the DBS has the most sophisticated driveline yet. The gearbox sits between the rear wheels to provide optimal weight distribution and has been programmed not just to learn and adapt to your driving style, but also to offer a choice of characters according to the driving mode you select. For example, in GT the shifts are silk-smooth, while in Sport and Sport Plus, they are increasingly sharp and urgent.
The DBS Superleggera Convertible includes carbon ceramic brakes, 21-inch alloy wheels and massive Pirelli P Zero tires. A quartet of matte black exhausts unleashes the peerless sound of the V12, providing an unforgettable experience to those both inside and out.
Beyond its intoxicating form and compelling function, this grand touring, two-door convertible lavishes driver and passenger in comfort. It comes with a White Stone exterior and All Obsidian Black leather interior, an eight-inch navigation system, Bang & Olufsen BeoSound system, carbon-fiber trim pack and 12-way, heated front seats with three-position memory, among a multitude of features. And of course, the distinctive Aston Martin wings are embroidered on the headrests.
The 2020 DBS Superleggera is among the four Aston Martins that actor Daniel Craig will drive in the upcoming “No Time to Die” thriller, the 25th installment of the famed British spy film. But there’s no need to wait for the movie to debut on this side of the pond, as this alluring lot includes two tickets to the World Premiere in London in April 2020 and special access to the official premiere afterparty. The couple will mingle with current and former Bond actors and actresses and have their own onsite hostess while at the exclusive event.
The lucky couple will also receive two nights’ accommodations in a Stafford Mews Suite at The Stafford in London, including a full English breakfast each morning. And Aston Martin will provide an opportunity for the winning couple to visit its headquarters in Warwickshire to see cars being built.
So make like Bond. James Bond. And turbo-charge your bidding to drive this beauty home!
