There is jewelry, and then there is the Chanel High Jewelry Collection.

In 1932, the Union of Diamond Merchants asked Chanel to help publicize their jewels during the worldwide economic slump, and the High Jewelry Collection was born. The House of Chanel designed a breathtaking range of pieces, applying the principles of Haute Couture to express the essence of Coco Chanel’s vision.

Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, later known as Coco, was born into extreme poverty in 1883 in Central France. Her father, an itinerant laborer, sent his daughters to an orphanage run by a convent, which was where Coco learned to sew. She found work as a seamstress and began designing hats, becoming a licensed milliner in 1910. After operating successful boutiques in Deauville and Biarritz, she opened her famed maison de couture in 1921 at 31 rue Cambon, in one of the most elegant districts of Paris.

She blazed an individual trail through the world of fashion and fragrance, but one of her most distinctive contributions was in the realm of jewelry.

Last year, the collection featured 77 pieces that paid homage to its 90th anniversary. They included a transformable necklace with a 55.55-carat blue-cut sapphire and two other designs comprised of white and yellow diamonds weighing 19.32 carats each.

The year before, Chanel unveiled Collection No. 5 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Chanel No. 5. The 123 stunning pieces reimagined iconic elements of the legendary fragrance in arrangements of priceless gemstones. 

One lucky couple will board a Business Class flight to London, England to take part in the debut of the 2023 Chanel High Jewelry Collection, the first time this event has ever been held outside of Paris.

Coco Chanel spent many years in London and is a fashion legend in the city. The winners will stay in a premier, Five-star luxury hotel, and the Chanel team will give the winning bidders an insider look into her life in the city along with custom-designed activities based on the winners’ preferences. The highlight of the trip will be Chanel’s exclusive gala and black-tie dinner. You’ll be the first to have an opportunity to view and purchase pieces from the collection.

What will be in the High Jewelry Collection this year? Only Chanel knows for sure at this point, but you can be one of the fortunate few to be present at the premiere.
