As you sink into your comfortable leather seat on your VIP private jet, your adventure is about to begin. The plane, which normally accommodates 40 passengers, has been custom fitted for a maximum of 15 travelers. While on board, you’ll experience the finest in first class cuisine paired with fine wines and Champagne, served by a hand-picked cabin crew. You’ll be accompanied by a Lakani Tour Manager, a personal concierge who will attend to your every need.
Throughout the trip, you’ll stay in sumptuous suites in hotels chosen for their proximity to cultural attractions and historic treasures. By taking advantage of Lakani’s Dine by Choice program, you’ll have the freedom to visit Michelin-starred restaurants, charming bistros or simply enjoy room service in the privacy of your room. And there’s no need to even worry about your luggage: your bags will be transported seamlessly from place to place and delivered directly to your hotel suite.
Your journey begins in Munich, where you’ll be met at the airport as you exit the plane with VIP Fastrack service and transferred to your Deluxe Hotel Suite. While in Munich, you’ll tour King Ludwig II’s most elaborate home, Herrenchiemsee Palace, modeled after the Palace of Versailles. Ludwig—sometimes called the Swan King or Fairy Tale King, occupied the throne of Bavaria from 1864 to 1886 and was instrumental in securing a special place for the kingdom in the newly created German Empire.
Since you’ll be fortunate enough to be visiting Munich in the fall, you’ll be able to attend Oktoberfest, the world’s largest beer and folk festival. Held every year since 1810, Oktoberfest attracts over six million people annually and is an important part of Bavarian culture. The annual event dates to October 12, 1810, when Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. They generously invited the citizens of Munich to attend the celebration on the fields outside the city gates—what we know today as the Theresienwiese—and the rest is history. Festivities include parades, concerts and traditional Bavarian foods and drinks, including the most popular giant soft pretzel and bratwurst and the traditional Marzën beer served in huge one-liter mugs known as mass.
From Munich, you’ll board your private jet and head to the island of Mallorca in the Mediterranean for a day trip to the capital of Palma de Mallorca. After touring the old city center, you’ll visit nearby Bellver Castle, built in the 14th century as the residence of the Kings of Mallorca. You’ll ascend to the top of the castle for a panoramic view of Palma and the Mediterranean coast.
After lunch, re-board your jet and fly to the imperial city of Fes, the second-largest city in Morocco after Casablanca. You’ll be ensconced in a Deluxe Suite at Palais Faraj, “the home of forever memories,” a meticulously restored boutique hotel with an oriental hammam and spa, an outdoor swimming pool, two restaurants and a bar with a breathtaking view over the entire Medina. During your time in Fes, you’ll explore the ancient gate of Bab Bou Jeloud, the historic madrasa of Medersa Bou Inania, the Islamic Gardens of the Medina and discover the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the former Mauritanian capital founded in the 3rd century BC.
Leave Morocco and jet off to Patras in the Peloponnese region of Greece and transfer to your luxury hotel on a 500-acre wooded estate, along a sandy beach facing the Ionian Islands. During your time in Greece, you’ll discover the extensive remains of picturesque Ancient Messini, still undergoing excavation, including the large theater, agora, Sanctuary of Asclepius and one of the most impressive ancient Greek stadiums. Visit the Palace of Nestor, the well-preserved Mycenaean palace featured in Homer’s Odyssey and Iliad and tour the archaeological site of Olympia and its ancient monuments.
Board your private jet and fly east to Georgia, a country at the intersection of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, whose capital, Tbilisi, was founded in 5th century AD on the banks of the Kura River. You’ll spend three nights in a Grand Deluxe Suite at the Biltmore Tbilisi Hotel in the center of Georgia’s capital. Explore the Old Town and its Metekhi Church, Sulphur Baths and Tbilisi Sioni Cathedral. As you tour the city, you’ll stop at Freedom Square and Rustaveli Avenue where the important theatres and Opera House are located. Later, you’ll delight in a private choral concert of Georgian traditional polyphonic music before visiting the ancient capital, Mtskheta. Founded 4000 years ago, Mtskheta’s historical monuments are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Lastly, you’ll stop at the historic town of Gori, known for its huge Fortress and as the birthplace of J. Stalin. You’ll visit the Stalin Museum that pays homage to the Gori native who became a key figure of 20th-century history.
En route to the timeless city of Budapest, your private jet will stop in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina for a walking tour to explore the fascinating mix of Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian and modern heritages of the city. After lunch, you’ll board your private jet once again for your final three nights in a Riverview Park Suite at the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace in Budapest, Hungary.
Originally two separate cities called Buda and Pest on either side of the River Danube, Budapest is a global city with strengths in commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education and entertainment. During your time there, you’ll step inside St. Stephen’s Basilica and walk around Liberty Square, and to honor Budapest’s musical past, you’ll be treated to a mini concert by students at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music that has been restored to its original stunning Art Nouveau splendor. During a visit to the Béla Bartók Memorial House you will be introduced to the music of the great Hungarian composer performed by a virtuoso pianist.
To cap your amazing journey, board a private boat for a cruise along the Danube and a panoramic view of both Buda and Pest. That night, you’ll reminisce with your fellow travelers during a festive farewell party. The memories of this trip will resonate in your mind for decades to come.
As you raise your paddle to bid, be prepared for history to come alive!
