The winning bidder’s party of eight will have the opportunity to spend one week on Maine’s unspoiled Boothbay Peninsula, taking advantage of everything the area has to offer: picturesque streets, miles of beautiful coastlines, New England’s biggest botanical garden, pristine seafood—and a world-class golf course.
Due to its proximity to fertile fishing grounds, the region hosted some of Maine’s first European settlements. Boothbay has been a popular vacation destination since the 1860s, when regular steamer service began; ever since, the combination of tourism and a working fishing waterfront have combined to shape the area’s economy and cultural life.
Before you journey to Boothbay, however, you need to look the part. Everyone in your party will receive a $500 gift card. The ladies will head for Saks Fifth Avenue, while the men will be outfitted with golf slacks at élevée by Rickey. Saks Fifth Avenue is a well-known luxury retailer, a popular destination for top designers and luxury goods. As Naples premier destination for men’s custom-tailored garments, élevée by Rickey relies on meticulous design and high-quality standards.
Your home base in Maine will be the Boothbay Harbor Country Club, first opened as a nine-hole course in 1921. The nine-hole gem designed by Stiles and Van Kleek expanded to 18 holes in 1999 and has recently gone through a complete redesign by renowned course architect Bruce Hepner, as part of a multi-million-dollar renovation by new owner Paul Coulombe. The Club is a world-class facility, housing a Five-star restaurant, sports bar and grille, outdoor heated seating with fire pit, a pro shop and luxury locker rooms.
You’ll spend the week in one of the club’s new Golf Villas, the height of seaside luxury. The Villa features four bedrooms with King-sized beds and ensuite bathrooms, along with a full kitchen and bar, jacuzzi, fireplace, outdoor dining area and daily housekeeping. When you’re not playing golf, indulge in tennis or pickleball, swim in the heated saltwater pool or recharge at the spa.
The par-71 golf course spans 6,655 yards, with greens of Bermuda grass and a slope of 140. In many ways it is the perfect Maine golf course, featuring breathtaking vistas, challenging holes and a sea breeze blowing off the ocean—designed for the comfort of the players, yet challenging no matter how many times you play it. The stunning new clubhouse is unlike any other facility in Maine with luxury amenities and unparalleled service.
When you want a break from the links, climb aboard a brand-new, 105-foot Ocean Alexander yacht for a cruise around Boothbay Harbor. For three hours, you’ll explore quiet coves, rocky shores and the three island lighthouses of the harbor (Burnt Island Light, Ram Island Light and the Cuckolds Light). Referred to as “the boating capital of New England,” the harbor is home to whales, dolphins, sharks, seals and puffins.
Your party of eight will enjoy dinner at Paul’s Steakhouse, Boothbay Harbor County Club’s formal dining room. Executive chef George Schimert oversees a menu that includes fresh Maine lobster, scallops and oysters, along with the very best hand-cut steaks. With an extensive wine list, heated outdoor seating and incredible views, Paul’s offers a true Five-star dining experience.
During your stay, you’ll take a full day excursion to Camden, a resort town in the mid-coast region of Maine, home to an exclusive summer colony similar to Nantucket and Bar Harbor. After shopping in the historic downtown, you’ll go for a sail along Camden Harbor and Penobscot Bay, learning how lobster traps are set in the peak fishing season from midsummer to mid-fall. Back on land, you’ll indulge in Maine’s fresh and unbelievably sweet lobsters during lunch.
This lot allows the winning bidder and a group of friends to step back into another century and enjoy a less complicated lifestyle, without giving up any modern comforts and conveniences. Raise your paddle and make it yours!
UPDATE: This lot now includes 1 – 1.5 Liter 2017 Lewis Cellars Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
