The Ford Bronco, the first sport utility vehicle manufactured and marketed by Ford, made its debut in 1966. It represented a new breed of compact off-road vehicle with maneuverability, comfort and power, capable of conquering both the highway and rough terrain.
If you missed the first-generation Bronco, this is a unique opportunity to own one—bigger and badder than ever. This 1968 vehicle has gone through a complete nut and bolt restoration and is filled with both vintage nostalgia and modern convenience.
The vehicle is just as pleasurable to look at as it is to drive. A new steel body is finished in eye-catching Naples Cabernet Reserve Red, and the custom oak leather interior (which brings to mind the French oak casks used to age the best Cabernets) features seats with diamond stitching. The floor is fully carpeted on top of a professionally lined bed.
Under the hood, the powerful 302 V8 with electronic fuel injection dwarfs the 1968’s original 2.8 liter inline six-cylinder engine. The rebuild is equipped with power steering and power disc brakes, as well as an AOD automatic 4 speed transmission (Ford’s first automatic overdrive transmission, introduced in 1980).
The appearance is enhanced with a 2.5-inch lift, 33-inch tires with chrome wheels, and power running boards. Audio enthusiasts will love the retro sound with Bluetooth and subwoofer, and a family style roll cage has been added as a safety feature.
Think you can’t recapture the past? Think again: You can bring it back to life even better than it was before. This one-of-a-kind, special build Ford Bronco will inspire envy anywhere you drive.
If a restored and rebuilt classic SUV isn’t enough, how about an instant wine cellar? Every participating vintner in the 2023 Naples Winter Wine Festival has donated a Large Format bottle of wine for your enjoyment. You’ll have an assortment of old and new world, dry and sweet, recent release and mature vintage, Chardonnay and Cabernet. Even if your cellar is already extensive, there will be treasures here that will provide endless delight.
Your collection will include a Magnum of the 2009 vintage from this year’s Honored Vintner, Château Mouton Rothschild. In addition, the selections will feature wines seldom available in Magnum format, such as 2013 Peter Michael Les Pavots and 2010 Hermitage Red La Chapelle from Paul Jaboulet Aîné—as well as wines that are usually sold through a mailing list, such as the 2019 Onda Cabernet from Napa’s Dana Estates which only produced 180 bottles and sold out within 24 hours of its release.
This singular lot gives you bragging rights among both car buffs and wine lovers. While it’s impossible to put a price on that, remember: It’s ALL for the kids!
