The winning bidders on this lot will receive the world—or at least a 14-day voyage aboard The World, the largest, privately owned residential mega yacht on earth.  First, though, the couple will have a close-up introduction to one of Napa’s most exciting new boutique wineries.

Your odyssey begins in Los Angeles, with a two-night stay at the Sunset Tower Hotel. Designed in 1929, the hotel was a trendsetter from the moment it opened, with elegant Art Deco styling and a dramatic setting on the Sunset Strip. Over the years, it played host to residents such as Howard Hughes, John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, Errol Flynn, Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor. Your upper-floor Premiere Suite will encompass 750 square feet and command unrivalled views of the downtown skyline.

The highlight of your time in L.A. will be a private dinner with Kashy Khaledi, proprietor of Ashes & Diamonds, at the exclusive San Vincente Bungalows. Khaledi is a 21st century Renaissance man; in addition to being a vintner, he has been a publisher, multimedia executive, internet innovator and architecture buff. His fascination with the new wave of California winemakers who practiced organic and biodynamic farming, coupled with his discovery of compact, balanced mid-century wines, led him to establish Ashes & Diamonds in 2014. Described as “a love letter to the Napa Valley of the 1960s,” the winery was named for a 1958 Polish film directed by Andrzej Wajda.

During dinner, you’ll experience the range of Ashes & Diamonds’ remarkable wines—from the single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Rancho Pequeño to stunning blends such as the Grand Vin and Saffron Vineyard (Merlot and Cabernet Franc). The memorable evening will be a behind-the-scenes look at one of California’s most dynamic young vintners.

At your convenience, board The World, the planet’s only privately owned residential mega yacht in operation today, for a 14-night journey to your destinations of choice. The World is home to only 165 residences, accommodating an international community of adventurers exploring the most exotic destinations on earth, in a lifestyle that exists nowhere else. You’ll have the ability to choose a segment from The World’s extensive global itinerary.

Launched in 2002, The World is the first ship of its size designed to burn marine diesel oil rather than heavy bunker fuel, making for a much more environmentally friendly ship. The World now burns only low sulfur marine gas oil which meets the strictest international and local regulations thus allowing the vessel to call in areas where ships burning heavy fuel are banned. The World was also the first ship to feature the unique Scanship wastewater cleaning system in which wastes are filtered by means of a flotation system. The ship offers six restaurants, several cocktail lounges and bars and a night club.

Your time on board will be spent in a luxurious two-bedroom residence with every possible amenity, including a veranda and enough space to invite another couple to join you. During your trip, you’ll select one port of call to have an in-depth destination experience. A private chef will come to your residence and prepare a meal according to your preferences, and you’ll explore the ship’s extensive wine cellar in a vertical wine tasting with The World’s sommelier from the ship’s award-winning wine list. At The World Spa & Wellness Center you’ll be treated to a 60-minute spa treatment for two designed to nourish the body, mind and soul.

Throughout your voyage you’ll partake of the ship’s remarkable cuisine paired with selected wines and spirits. The world will truly be at your fingertips.

In addition, the winning bidders will receive a selection of wines from the 2018 and 2019 vintages of Ashes & Diamonds, in rare Magnum format. These wines will evoke memories of your time spent with Kashy Khaledi and provide pleasure for years to come.

Airfare and ground transportation are not included for any portion of the trip and are the responsibility of the winning bidders. The trip to Los Angeles is to take place for mutually agreeable dates in April 2023. The voyage aboard The World is redeemable for any itinerary between January 25, 2024 through December 22, 2024, with blackout dates of January 1-22, August 19-30 and September 7-27, 2024; subject to availability; and must be scheduled for mutually agreeable dates. The accommodations aboard The World include one (1) Master bedroom and an interior room. If the winning bidders choose to invite an additional couple, any additional related costs or upgrades are at the winning bidders’ expense. All gratuities and port charges for The World sailing are included. The bespoke destination experience is included up to $500. Pre-and/or post-cruise hotel accommodations, transfers to and from the ship, optional shore excursions and onboard and personal expenses are not included. All  fourteen (14) nights onboard The World must be tak41en consecutively and within the span of the winners’ selected voyage. The trip is non-transferable, not redeemable for cash and cannot be sold to any other parties. The winners may upgrade to another category of accommodation and will be responsible for the published difference in the nightly rate. The winners and all guests must comply with the ship’s prevailing onboard policies and requirements at the time of sailing, including The World’s COVID-19 protocols as vaccinations might still be required at time of sailing. The winning bidder and his or her guest will be considered participants of The World’s Guest Stay Program (GSP). Those in the GSP may take a maximum of three voyages. The limit for any one voyage is 30 days with a total maximum number of days of 90. All passengers must undergo a full criminal history background check and security screening prior to boarding The World. The winning bidder must submit required biographical data, including passport information, residence address and social security or other identifying numbers. The procedures for background checks will be seamless and no contact with the individuals being screened will be required once their biographical data has been submitted to The World. If a person is denied boarding because of unsatisfactory results from these background checks, as determined in The World’s complete and sole discretion, The World will make no refund or compensation to the winning bidders or any other person. All passage onboard The World is subject to the Terms of Carriage. The 2019 Ashes & Diamonds V.1 Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum has not yet been released and will ship directly to the winning bidder at the end of 2023.
