Anyone who visits Provence, France will never forget the sights and smells: the fields of lavender leading to Mount Ventoux, the aroma of wild herbs and garlic, the rouget and loup de mer from the Mediterranean Sea, the bouillabaisse of Marseille and the fragrant beef stew of the Camargue. In Naples, we’re fortunate to have our own corner of Provence.
The Cariots came to Naples from Provence in 1999 to retire but ended up opening a restaurant that showcased the finest dishes of their native region. A self-taught chef, Lysielle views cooking as a creative process of reinventing old and new recipes with imagination, elegance and class. In addition to being a labor of love, Bleu Provence is also the quintessential family restaurant with two children working as managers. Kevin and his brother Clément delight in joining their parents and assisting guests with food and wine pairings.
Forty couples will gather at Bleu Provence in November of 2022 to enjoy this elegant feast. Whether you are returning to Naples for season or have been here all year, the Cariots will welcome you for a night of delicious food and intimate time with friends. A cocktail and wine reception with passed hors d’oeuvres will start the evening as you mingle with your fellow foodies, followed by Lysielle serenading your senses with her repertoire of classic dishes. During each course, you will indulge in the best wines from around the world.
At $25,000 a couple, forty couples will make this the first million dollar meal, and best of all, every dollar will go directly toward helping the children of Collier County.
To highlight the impact your participation in this exclusive event will make, each course will be themed to pay tribute to the seven strategic initiatives of the Naples Children & Education Foundation.
Early Learning: Research shows that 85% of all brain development occurs before age three; our program for children from birth to age five enhances teacher quality, access and affordability of education-focused care.
Health Care: This strategic initiative provides children in need with essential medical and healthcare services that have measurable outcomes and a life-changing impact.
Hunger: This strategic initiative helps provide nutritious food to children and their families who struggle with food insecurity, the fear of not knowing where their next meal will come from.
Mental Health: Through the integration of primary care and behavioral health services, this strategic initiative creates a system of care that works to identify and prevent children’s mental health issues.
Oral Health: Dental caries (tooth decay) is among the most common chronic childhood diseases; this initiative provides dental care to the at-risk and underprivileged children of Collier Country through the NCEF Pediatric Dental Center in conjunction with a mobile sealant program.
Out-of-School Time: This strategic initiative was developed to provide innovative, groundbreaking programming to close gaps in education during after-school, holiday and summertime hours.
Vision: Research indicates that significant vision problems are prevalent in one in four of all school-aged children in the United States. This strategic initiative ensures that children in Collier County’s Title I schools and select early learning centers receive vision screenings from eye professionals and, if needed, additional ocular care.
Bleu Provence has held the prestigious Wine Spectator “Grand Award” since 2015, one of only 97 restaurants around the globe to be awarded that honor. Over the years, Jacques has assembled a list containing over 4,800 selections and a cellar holding 49,000 bottles from the world’s major wine regions.
We are incredibly grateful to the Cariots for their many years of generosity, culminating in this extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime auction lot.
For the children of Collier County who depend on us for vital services, this lot is priceless. Hold your paddle high for incredible food, good company and a great cause—it’s ALL for the kids!
