Located on the Adriatic Sea at the crossroads of Central and Southern Europe, Croatia is a country of stunning natural beauty: snow-covered mountain peaks, rich forests, unspoiled national parks, nature preserves and more than 1,000 islands bathed in sunlight along the coastline.
Five fortunate couples will have the chance to travel Croatia as few tourists are able to do, experiencing the very best in food, wine and hospitality. After enjoying an elegant catered dinner aboard your private jet, you’ll arrive at Split, a historic city on the eastern shore of the Adriatic. In Split, your party will have lunch onboard the luxury superyacht Katharine, which will be your home for your first two luxurious nights.
The 201-foot Katharine is a classic CRN superyacht, built with every possible amenity. Six spacious, beautifully crafted cabins occupy the main deck, each with marble bathrooms and oversized windows that provide plenty of natural light. Also on the main deck, the Gar Wood lounge offers a relaxing atmosphere for reading, enjoying pre-dinner cocktails or watching a movie in the 75-inch 4K UHD theater. The formal dining room on the bridge deck contains a climate-controlled venue to savor the creations of head chef Belinda Brewin, who has studied with area chefs to learn about local ingredients and dishes. While aboard, take the time to unwind in the spa pool or simply relax on deck and watch the sun-drenched Croatian islands slip by. And with a crew of 16 to watch over your party of ten, you’ll receive an unprecedented level of pampering.
After lunch in Split, you may choose to participate in a walking guided tour of the city, including the Roman ruins of Diocletian’s palace. A beautifully crafted dinner will be served aboard the Katharine. The next morning, you will depart and cruise to the island of Hvar, in time to have lunch ashore at Restaurant Gariful. Enjoy the afternoon tour of Hvar and the Fortezza Spanjola, a fortress perched on a hill above the old town which was built at the beginning of the 16th century, before returning to the Katharine for dinner aboard.
After cruising to the cities of Trogir and Hvar, you’ll reach your home for the next four nights: the Five-star Relais & Châteaux Villa Korta Katarina, located in the seaside town of Orebić on the Pelješac Peninsula. The name Korta Katarina combines the kortas or gardens of Croatia and the Anderson’s family name of Katharine, or Katarina in Croatian. Surrounded by natural beauty, with panoramic views of the glistening Adriatic and nearby islands, the Korta Katarina is perfectly positioned for visitors who want to experience southern Croatia’s bounty.
Your party will occupy five of the eight individually styled suites distributed throughout the spacious stone villa. After settling in at the Villa, you’ll partake in a tour of Korta Katarina Winery followed by dinner prepared by the head chef, who deftly blends local recipes with classical dishes and accompanied by award-winning KK wines.
The next day, you will have the unique opportunity to take a boat cruise to the ancient village of Korčula, regarded as the birthplace of Marco Polo. While there, you will enjoy lunch at Lešić Dimitri Palace. Upon returning to Villa Katarina, cocktails will be accompanied by live cello music followed by a decadent dinner.
You will continue the cultural tour the next day with a leisurely exploration of the village of Orebic, visiting the historic Our Lady of the Angels Monastery with its breathtaking views of the Pelješac Canal and Korčula. Then take a short boat cruise to Strupe Island for lunch at Moro Beach. Later, sip sunset cocktails served in the Villa Katarina library before dinner which will be hosted in the Old Wine Cellar, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
After breakfast the next morning, embark on a tour of Mali Ston, gathering oysters and enjoying your bounty for lunch. Mali Ston was founded in 1335 as part of the Republic of Ragusa, with an impressive arrangement of walls and towers, including the outstanding fortress of Koruna. After lunch, guests will return to Villa Katarina for a buffet dinner and the final evening at Villa Katarina.
It’s time to say goodbye to the Villa Korta Katarina and reboard the luxury Katharine for your final two nights to be wined and dined once again by the 16-person crew. You’ll visit the town of Polače where you’ll explore the Mljet National Park and the Island of Sveta Marija where a former Benedictine Monastery has been erected since the 12th century. In Trogir, stroll the town and enjoy shopping in the quaint medieval village filled with churches, towers and fortresses, including the breathtaking Cathedral of St. Lawrence.
After lunch aboard the Katharine, you’ll be transferred to Split where you’ll depart for the U.S. and end your Croatian adventure. Your once-in-a-lifetime Adriatic adventure will resonate in your memory for years to come.
Bid high on this lot and give Croatia a place in your heart!
