Bring your boots and prepare to experience the best of the American West at the luxurious Magee Homestead featuring the phenomenal wines of Colgin Cellars. Instead of driving cattle across the Great Plains, you will have the ultimate in accommodations, food and experiences—enhanced by the wines of Colgin Cellars, one of world’s most exalted wineries.
A private jet will transport your party of four to the high desert of Wyoming, near the Medicine Bow National Forest. Your Five-star Relais & Châteaux retreat was once a cow camp and hay-producing ranch back in the early 20th century. To this day it is still a working cattle ranch, however, in 2010, this historic property was completely restored to strike a perfect balance between active outdoor recreation, shared experiences, revitalization and preservation of the Western way of life.
Your home for four nights will be one of the luxury cabin residences that once housed cowpokes on the trail. Today they’re equipped with every possible comfort for leisure, rejuvenation and romance. The hand-hewn log cabins blend seamlessly into the panoramic landscape and feature heated floors and fireplaces to keep you comfortable in this remote and remarkable location.
Your days at Magee Homestead will be filled with activities such as horseback riding, hiking and trail running, mountain biking, fly fishing, shooting sports, archery and ATV adventures. If you prefer to experience the softer side of the West, opt for yoga, cooking or baking classes or a tour of The Greenhouse that grows all the produce for The Farm and surrounding areas. At the end of the day, relax in the Magee Spa with a full range of massage and salon services.
Crafted by executive chef Ülfet Özyabasligil Ralph, the cuisine at Magee Homestead is a true and unforgettable farm to table experience. Most of the ingredients that go into her creations spring from the estate itself, from the produce grown in The Greenhouse to the breads and pastries from The Bakery, the cheeses and ice cream made from Alpine goats at the Medicine Bow Creamery and the ranch-raised 100% American Wagyu beef. Her rotating menus can be fine-tuned to accommodate any dietary restriction or preference.
Two of your dinners will be hosted by Paul Roberts, COO of Colgin Cellars. Paul is one of less than 270 Master Sommeliers worldwide and the sixth person to pass the exam upon first attempt, winning the prestigious Krug Cup. He will guide you through the graceful and profound wines of Colgin Cellars, a world-renowned winery ensconced in the hills overlooking Napa Valley.
Dedicated to making the finest wines from exceptional hillside vineyards, Colgin Cellars was founded in 1992 and has garnered critical acclaim ever since. Named “One of the Fifty Greatest Wine Estates in the World” by Robert Parker, Jr., Colgin Cellars’ wines are synonymous with elegance, power and longevity. The wines sing of perfume, freshness and minerality, magnifying the inherent beauty and complexity found in Napa’s distinctive, hillside vineyards.
You’ll be able to relive your time on the prairie by indulging in a quartet of Large Format bottles of Colgin wines from the 2012 vintage, an exceptional harvest in Napa marked by an abundance of sunshine and ripe, concentrated fruit. These Double Magnums of Colgin’s vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah will age gracefully for decades to come.
Don your Stetson, polish your spurs and bid high for this amazing visit to the Wild West!
