The Great Smoky Mountains are a national treasure, home to old growth forests, a diverse ecosystem – and, of course, the delicate mist that gives the range its name. And for four days and three nights, it will be home-away-from-home for the winners of this auction lot, as three lucky couples will head to the hills and check into the luxurious digs of the new Blackberry Mountain resort in Walland, Tennessee.
Here, you’ll savor southern hospitality, inspiring meals prepared by Blackberry Mountain executive chefs Josh Feathers and Joel Werner, and wines hand-selected from the Araujo Family’s acclaimed Accendo Cellars and Trois Noix labels.
On your first night on Blackberry Mountain, you’ll check into your cozy Stone Cottage accommodations – complete with a private patio, wood-burning fireplace, king-size featherbed, spacious sitting area and whirlpool tub. Next, you and your traveling companions will gather with your Blackberry Mountain hosts and two generations of the Araujo Family at the peak of the Mountain and enjoy dinner in the Firetower, a restaurant constructed around a historic lookout tower and boasting a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains and valley scenery. It’s the ideal setting for a meal prepared by executive chef Joel Werner, who will prepare a mountain-inspired menu complemented by wine pairings from the Accendo Cellar and Trois Noix collection.
Your second day on Blackberry will be enjoyed under the vast Smoky Mountain sky. A guide will lead your group on a hike to Chestnut Flats, a trailside destination on the Mountain, where you may soak in the energy of the natural surroundings, enjoy friendly competition with games of bocce ball and toast to a great day with beer provided by Blackberry Farm Brewery.
Take your third day at a leisurely pace, or perhaps choose to hike or mountain bike with the Araujos, and enjoy lunch hosted by the Family, with seasonal courses accompanied by Araujo wines. Your third evening will be spent at Three Sisters, Blackberry Mountain’s flagship restaurant, located in The Lodge. Here, you’ll experience a dynamic, elegant dinner from executive chef Josh Feathers and another round of perfect wine pairings from the Araujos’ extensive wine cellar, set off by special Blackberry Mountain selections.
And if all this wasn’t rare and remarkable enough, you’ll also have a chance to stretch your legs – Smokies-style. After all, Blackberry Mountain is a unique, 5,200-acre property, where you can explore wellness and relaxation personalized just for you. You can hike, mountain bike, take a complimentary fitness class, indulge in a full-service spa, get lost in a great book in the Library or discover a whole host of other experiences and relaxation – all surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Smokies.
To remember your magical time in Tennessee with the Araujo Family, each couple will take home an etched Magnum of 2016 Accendo Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as exclusive VIP Friends and Family status on the Accendo Cellars’ mailing list. Founded in 2013, Accendo pays homage to an earlier era and marks a beginning of a new one. Sourcing grapes from some of the finest vineyard sites and terroir in Napa Valley, Daphne & Bart Araujo strive to make a wine of balance and restraint, and to produce this wine with the commitment, energy and meticulous attention to detail that have characterized their wines.
