Imagine, if you will, the late 1870s in Northern Michigan. As the logging era drew to a close, the railroads expanded their reach to draw a different type of commodity: tourists. And the tourists readily came to Walloon Lake, lured by the promise of placid, pristine waters and an escape from the sweltering summer heat in places such as Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Chicago.
More than a century may have passed, but Walloon Lake has lost none of its appeal. The vibrant vistas, fabulous fishing and summertime society still brings in the well-heeled vacationers – and did we mention the boating? For the four fortunate winners of this lot, the waves of Walloon Lake await you, all in the form of a 2019 Malibu Wakesetter 23’ LSV boat, complete with wakeboard and wakesurf equipment.
When it comes to ski boats, Malibu is the leader. The best-selling towboat of all time, Malibu’s 23’ LSV is the perfect size to make memories on the water, able to welcome aboard 15 passengers. And it generates an absolute wall of water when you want it – but can also create an approachable wake for beginners, too. It’s the essence of the original Malibu brand, and a legend in the industry.
Your time on Walloon Lake includes six nights and seven days of luxury accommodations at the historic Hotel Walloon, located on the shimmering shores of Walloon Lake, where you’ll enjoy a lakeside corner king room with kitchenette and adjoining double queen room. Although quaint, Walloon Lake doesn’t lack for non-watery pursuits, and is located not far from the posh enclaves of Charlevoix and Petoskey. Indulge your palate with a $2,500 dining credit for two local restaurants, and your love of learning with twelve hours of boating and wakesurfing instructions.
This summer, the crystal-clear waves of Northern Michigan are waiting for you. It’s time to make a splash!
Winner will be able to select the boat on display at the auction or order a custom boat of equal or lesser value. Trailer, license, taxes and registrations fees are all included. Boat delivery to the winning bidder at Walloon Lake and shipment to their home anywhere in the continental United States at the conclusion of their stay at Walloon Lake is also included. Visit to Hotel Walloon is based on availability, but early reservations are encouraged during peak travel season. Roundtrip ground transportation from the Traverse City Airport are included.
