Please join us in welcoming Sommelier Jon McCarthy of The Matheson in Healdsburg, California.
Certified Sommelier Jon McCarthy began his hospitality career in Virginia’s wine country before relocating to Sonoma County. He has worked with Chef Dustin Valette at Dry Creek Kitchen and led beverage programs at Chalkboard and Brass Rabbit. After a two-year stint in New York City—including roles at Aureole and as wine director for the Archer Hotel in Bryant Park—Jon returned to Sonoma as wine & beverage director at The Matheson, where he curates the renowned 88-bottle Wine Wall.

Joining the distinguished Vintner lineup for this year’s Festival are Nicole & Jean Trimbach of Trimbach in Alsace, France.
Born in 1960, Jean Trimbach represents the twelfth generation of the Trimbach family. Educated in Colmar and Strasbourg, he studied accounting and business before completing military service in the French Alps. In 1984, he spent nine months in the U.S. gaining experience in the wine industry, working with Seagram Chateau & Estate Wines in New York and at Gundlach Bundschu and Sterling Vineyards in California, followed by time at Château Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux. Jean joined the Trimbach family business in 1985 and has since played a key role, traveling extensively worldwide.

Alberto Tasca is president and CEO of Tasca d’Almerita, one of Italy’s most historic family-owned wineries. Deeply rooted in Sicily, he has led investments across the island—from Regaleali to Mount Etna—championing native grape varieties and distinct terroirs. A leader in sustainable viticulture, Alberto co-founded the SOStain protocol and serves as president of the SOStain Sicily Foundation, helping earn Tasca d’Almerita international recognition, including “European Winery of the Year.”

Juan Pablo Torres-Padilla has led Sullivan Rutherford Estate since 2018 with the vision of crafting Napa Valley’s next “first growth” wine. Born in Mexico City and educated in France and the U.S., JP built a global career spanning engineering, economics and leadership in advanced technology before turning his lifelong passion for wine into a calling. After years immersed in the great vineyards of Burgundy, Champagne and Bordeaux, he acquired the historic Sullivan Rutherford Estate and assembled a world-class team to elevate its legacy through precision viticulture, state-of-the-art winemaking and exceptional hospitality.

Please join us in welcoming Sommelier Jonathan Eichholz, MS of Aftergold in New York, New York. Jonathan Eichholz is an award-winning Master Sommelier who has worked at Michelin-starred Aquavit and The Modern in New York City. He was named Best Young Sommelier in America in 2019 and went on to place 2nd in the world. Jonathan is a GuildSomm educator, host and co-producer of The Wine Show on Vice Media, and is preparing to open the fine dining concept Aftergold in Lower Manhattan.
