Vega Sicilia is Spain’s most celebrated wine estate and one of the world’s most admired. Vega Sicilia was founded in the Ribera del Duero region in 1864 by Don Eloy Lecanda y Chaves, who brought back cuttings of Bordeaux grape varieties from France, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot, and blended them together with the local Tempranillo grape variety. It was an unusual practice at the time, but history proved him right; wine expert Hugh Johnson has referred to Vega Sicilia as the Château Latour of Spain.

The estate’s success stems from a combination of tradition and innovation. Above all, Vega Sicilia is known for patience: the flagship Unico is not released for at least ten years, sometimes as long as 15. Made from the oldest vines, it is among the rarest and most valuable wines in the world. Your party will have a private tour of the property, followed by an exclusive tasting and lunch.

In addition to world-class wine, your group will dine at some of the country’s most famous restaurants, known for creating a revolution in cuisine. You’ll have lunch at Asador Etxebarri, ranked #3 on the list of Europe’s best restaurants in 2025. Owner and Chef Bittor Arguinzoniz is a master of the grill, preserving the integrity of his ingredients as they are kissed by fire. The culinary highlight is dinner at El Celler de Can Roca in Catalonia, a Three Michelin Star restaurant ranked atop the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” list, where the Roca brothers serve traditional Catalan cuisine with modern twists and manage a cellar of 60,000 bottles.

From Valbuena de Duero you’ll journey to Bilbao and stay at the Palacio Arriluce, a historic palace transformed into a contemporary hotel overlooking the Bay of Biscay. Enjoy art, gastronomy, wellness and exclusive experiences in this unique enclave, as well as a side trip to taste the wines of Rioja. While in Bilbao you’ll visit the Torre Loizaga automobile museum, described as having one of the most significant Rolls-Royce collections in the world. It contains 45 Rolls-Royce cars in three pavilions, including an 1899 Allen Runabout and a rare 1956 Rolls-Royce Phantom IV originally owned by HH Abdullah III Al-Salim Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait.
