The Figges moved to Naples from Davenport, Iowa 10 years ago to spend winters here and summers in Sun Valley, ID. The rest of the family (six children, three in-laws and eight grandchildren) love to visit Jim and Sandy in their resort town. Jim has been a collector of wine since 1980 and admits his “hobby” has become a way of life.
A way of life that affects family vacation destinations and even the professional direction of one of their children. Son Peter received his Masters degree in Viniculture and is Central Coast Senior Manager for Franciscan Estate Vineyards, overseeing in excess of 1,800 acres of grapes. Collecting wine has always been fun for the Figges, but seeing wine become a catalyst for raising money for children’s charities in Collier County, takes their joy of collecting wine to a whole new level.
